English sterling silver open salt and matching mustard pot, both with cobalt glass liners, Gadroon rims and shell feet by William Hutton and Sons, Ltd. with a full set of Sheffield Hallmarks for 1937. Each is 2 1/4" in diameter and 1 1/2" tall, with the pot being a little taller. The cobalt glass liners have one chip on the salt, with none on the pot and are deep blue, not with the purple color indicated by the pictures. The silver weight of the two is 111 grams or 3.6 ozs. Troy. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. [r2286]
