  • Condition: A demitasse set: cup and Saucer from the Western Pacific railroad. What makes this so rare is that WP ran very little passenger service on its own. The CZ had its own China design, and the WP ran few other passenger trains on its own, especially with dining car service. Excellent condition. These pieces are Inca Ware Shenango China, made in New Castle, PA.

    Description

    One excellent condition   China Demitasse cup and saucer with Western Pacific - The Feather River Route  insignia/print on cup and saucer.
    Beautiful  tan basic color, with Maroon feathers and black print.
    I am assuming that this pattern was used on WP dining cars, which would make this set  EXTREMELY Rare, as WP ran very little passenger service on its own.  Most trains  (Exposition Flyer, California Zephyr) were run in partnership with DRGW and CB&Q, and each train had their own designed china.
    Cup is 2.5 inches in diameter at top and saucer is  4 5/8 inches in diameter.
    Three small glazing flaw or chips on bottom of  saucer are only imperfections I can find.
    Great and extremely rare collector's item.
